Well, we just joined the ranks of millions and saw the movie Avatar, the multi-hundred-million dollar production of Jim Cameron.
I was certainly entertained, and in fact I would say that I enjoyed the film. I guess I would say it was overdone, but fun. The movie was more than 2.5 hours long, and I didn’t notice the time passing by (and not because I was asleep – but rather because I was entertained).
I won’t spoil the movie for you but do want you to know that it has a rather obvious (even ostentatious) environmental theme. Even though the indigenous inhabitants of Pandora, the exomoon on which this takes place, are blue, the theme is very much about green.
Below we provide some links to this connection between this blockbuster movie and its green message, intentionally selecting some who applaud the idea and others for whom this was a turn off.
As usual, we say: judge for yourself.
See the trailer here. UPDATE: better video link here, with more emphasis on the environment and more dialogue from the movie.
